The endorsement of John Edwards helpes change the topic of the media and stole a needed spot light from Clinton. To that extent it was and is helpful. Other than that the value of the endorsment in changing the perception of the so called blue collar white workers towards Obama's candidacy is not certain.
Obama himself needs to keep talking to these voting block that he does have their interests in heart and lay out tangible substantive proposal in a language they understand. Yes, Obama has laid out important policy position papers. But how many of us have read those papers. Thus, the need on the part of the candidate to tell us in a few sentences what they meant in practice. To do that Obama must have campaigned in W Virginia. By gone are by gone, the question is will Obama campaign in Kentucky? I hope he will.
