Don’t believe it; ‘End the war NOW’ cannot end the war!

What is the use of living, if it be not to strive for noble causes and to make this muddled world a better place for those who will live in it after we are gone? (A great Stateman)

Oh yes, the overwhelming majority of the American electorate have come to understand that this war should have never been waged in the first place. It is true, it should never have been waged then. Common people like me nstinctively knew this war was a stupid one.

Notwithstanding squeamishness about the war, however, America is where America is now, namely, in the midst of a full blown war. Semantics aside, it is a full blown war. Indeed, the whole fury of the enemy has turned on America already. The enemy knows full well that he will have to break America’s will in Iraq or lose the war.

It seems clear to me that America’s credibility is on the line. Make no mistake about it, upon this war depends the survival of America’s credibility and the long term peace of the region. The violence is worsening. Hopes for peace seem to be disappearing. The government - widely seen as a puppet of America - hasn't established any authority.

Yet, America cannot, (without dire consequences down the road) acquiesce to the ‘end war’ NOW path. But, to procure a speedy termination of the chaos which prevails on the war front, America must find a champion as indomitable to restore its humble-courage and lead her back to its coveted place among the nations. In my next blog, I will lay out my thoughts how this goal may be accomplished.
